Popcaan & NotNice Accused Producer Of Jacking “El Chapo” Riddim

No Rating

Popcaan and NotNice thinks that Good Good Productions blatantly jacked their “El Chapo” beat.

Good Good’s new beat, Life’s Path Riddim, has been getting a lot of attention with artists like MasickaI-OctaneKonshens, and Bugle recording songs on the project. According to NotNice, who produced Popcaan’s single “El Chapo,” wants the producer at Good Good Production to give him credit for his work and stop acting like it’s an original effort.

“It good say me can inspire other producers out there innu, but dem fi just gimme me credit and stop gwaan like dem tek people fi fool,” NotNice said while adding that this has been a problem in dancehall for a long time. “It happen all the while, but I think this one is the most plain one. Other people do it and kinda mask it one way, but not dah one yah. I think dem did a try make it sound more like it than try fi mask it,” he added.

A rep for Popcaan told us that the dancehall deejay heard the riddim and strongly agrees with NotNice that the Life Path Riddim is a total ripoff. “This is what the music come to, producer stealing riddims and acting like its nothing, it no look good and Poppy see it clear,” the deejay’s rep told Urban Islandz. “How all the other artists feel when them hear the riddim and realize say them a voice on NotNice riddim?”

Good Good Productions has remained silent on the accusations. Listen to both beats below and be your own judge.
